Student-developed video game heads to industry showcase

Kev Greene has a tough time playing the computer game Awaken for fun.

As the game’s designer, it’s hardly escape to delve into to the adventure game. Instead, it’s just another opportunity to find flaws and fix bugs that, admittedly, only he would notice.

“I notice so many little things now,” the fourth year interactive arts and science (IASC) student said. “It’s nit-picking. Tiny things players won’t see we want to make sure they look proper and the game plays well.”

Awaken at Level Up Showcase!

We are very happy and pleased to announce that we will be participating in this year's Level Up Showcase in Toronto! Level Up is first event of its kind that showcases student projects from colleges and universities all across Ontario, Canada. Some of the event's sponsors include NBC Universal, Microsoft, AMD, Zynga, Rockstar Energy Drink and many more. Level Up takes place in Toronto at the Design Exchange on April 3, 2013.

This is the first time Brock University is participating in the showcase and we are honoured to be included.

Awaken Game Designer Featured in Short Documentary

Tesseractive Games' own Kev Greene, who is the Game Designer of 'Awaken', was recently featured in a short documentary created by Andrew George, one of the 3D environment artists working on 'Awaken'. The documentary talks to Kev about life in the Interactive Arts and Science program at Brock University, and documents the team's trip showing 'Awaken' to Niagara Region high schools.
